Some purifiers gauge performance using a metric called ‘Clean Air Delivery Rate’ (CADR). It’s conducted in a compact chamber, measuring just 28.5m3, with one sensor to measure air quality.
Dyson developed the POLAR test to measure filtration, sensing and whole-room purification. Based on a large room size of 81m3, nine sensors continually measure air quality throughout the room. So it’s a true reflection of real-life usage.
